Day 1
You fly to Toronto today and will have time to wander around the city later on. The waterfront is a good place to start, with plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy an evening meal and watch the world go by.
Day 2
You have a full day in this fantastic city. We recommend starting with the CN Tower for incredible views of both Toronto and Lake Ontario. You could also take the ferry across to Toronto Islands and explore this lovely parkland area on foot, or hire a bike. Alternatively, tickle your tastebuds at lively St Lawrence Market or try and catch a sports game at the famous Rogers Centre.
Day 3
Drive to the Niagara Region and first head to the pretty little town of Niagara on the Lake for lunch and a browse of the boutique shops and galleries. From here it’s about 30 minutes to Niagara Falls.
Day 4
You have a full day today to make the most of Niagara Falls. The Niagara Adventure Pass gives you access to several attractions including the Hornblower Cruise to the base of the falls and the Journey Behind the Falls.
Day 5
From Niagara you drive back around the end of Lake Ontario and north to Huntsville on the edge of Algonquin Provincial Park. This tranquil area is a haven for outdoor and wildlife lovers.
Day 6
A day for adventure in Algonquin Provincial Park. There are many walk trails in the park and you can rent kayaks in a couple of places if you would prefer to spend the day on the water.
Day 7
A second day for exploring Algonquin, and today you could focus on the wildlife. Moose are often spotted grazing along the lakeshores and there’s a plethora of birdlife here.
Day 8
From Algonquin you head east across a rural part of Ontario Canada’s capital, Ottawa. Take a leisurely stroll along the historic Rideau Canal, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 9
Today you take a guided walking tour of Ottawa; learn about the city’s history and architecture, explore Byward market and other sights enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.
Day 10
From Ottawa you drive south, following the course of the Rideau River, to the 1000 Islands Region. Enjoy a lunchtime cruise amongst the scenic islands and learn about the interesting environment and history of this region, before having a look around the historic city of Kingston.
Day 11
The final stretch of your journey, along the edge of Lake Ontario to Toronto where you head straight to the airport and board you overnight flight back to the UK.
