Day 1
Today you fly from the UK to the multi-cultural city of Montreal. Start your time here with a wander around the cobbled streets of the Old Town and enjoy dinner at one if the city’s many excellent restaurants.
Day 2
Montreal is a great city to explore by bike and this tour today will take you through several interesting neighbourhoods and along the waterfront as you learn about the city’s history and hidden gems.
Day 3
Collect a hire car this morning and head north in to the leafy Laurentian Mountains.
Day 4
Enjoy a free day in the scenic Laurentian Mountains. There is a number of walking trails, cycling tracks and several lakes where you can paddle on, or in the water.
Day 5
Drive to the walled City of Québec. Orientate yourself this afternoon with a walk around the lower town and watch the world go by whilst enjoying a coffee at one of the many cafes here.
Day 6
Take a brilliant guided tour through the upper town, with a culinary theme. You will explore the many different flavours of the city by visiting a few gourmet food producers and tasting some local specialities along the way.
Day 7
Make your way out of Quebec City and journey eastwards in to the Charlevoix Region , following the course of the St Lawrence River as far as the lovely little town of La Malbaie.
Day 8
Continue your journey east along the St Lawrence River to the red-roofed town of Tadoussac, crossing the mouth of the beautiful Saguenay Fjord on the way.
Day 9
Take a whale watching trip this morning. You will head out in to the Gulf of St Lawrence and spend a few hours looking for these magnificent creatures – this area is excellent for spotting minke, humpback and fin whales.
Day 10
Today you journey along the northern edge of Saguenay Fjord to La Baie. Whilst the you can’t see the fjord from the road there are several detours you can take to tiny settlements that dot the riverine, such as Sainte-Rose-du-Nord.
Day 11
We recommend starting your time here with a visit to the interesting Musée du Fjord to get an insight in to the interesting geology and ecology of the area, then perhaps drive to nearby Lac St Jean and visit historic Village Val Jalbert, a reconstructed company town that depicts life in the heyday of the region’s paper mills.
Day 12
Drive to Québec airport and board your overnight flight back to the UK.
